Wireless communications systems are everywhere in today’s society. There are a few characteristics that appeal to everyone making wireless communications more important each day. When I first owned cell phone when I was younger it was because it was convenient. The fact that I could call my friends up and see what they were doing without having to use the house phone was awesome, and of course texting, that was the thing. Mobility is, I would say, one of the most important characteristics of wireless communication. It doesn’t just appeal to busy adult workers, who try to work on the go, it appeals to everyone for emergencies, passing time when you’re bored, talking with friends, communicating with people who could live anywhere around the world, etc. “The freedom to move about without being tethered by wires is certainly the principal advantage of a wireless network.” (Olenewa, 2013, pg.28). Another characteristic, which appeals to me, is the future applications for wireless communication. A ton of things are wireless today and not just phones, tablets, or laptops.
