Hello Class, I am going to be honest this week. I really feel that this week’s forum post, is week 7 but reworded. It is literally about workstation hardening, which is what was discussed last week. Discuss some hardening techniques or products you have used for Workstations Microsoft offers Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) free to Microsoft users. “Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) checks for available updates to the operating system, Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC), MSXML (Microsoft XML Parser), .NET Framework, and SQL Server. MBSA also scans a computer for insecure configuration settings.” (Meier et al., 2006). Windows Firewall is also a free program that comes pre-installed on the computer. Tenable network security is also a company, which offers a few different programs that can help harden your workstation. Their SecurityCenter product offers continuous network monitoring and vulnerability

Unformatted text preview: analyTcs. One important think about hardening your computer, is making sure it stays that way. In the same sense people put up cameras around their property, is the same sense you’ll use a network monitor and analysis program. 2. List any observaTons, Tps or quesTons about this lab that would prove helpful to fellow students prior to midnight on Wednesday and comment on other student posts with value added comments (not simply agreeing) by midnight Sunday for full credit consideraTon. ²ha lab was not bad at all. I actually did lab 9 this week too and I’m going to do lab 10 pre¶y shortly just for those extra credit points. I don’t have any Tps or quesTons about the labs as they’re pre¶y straight forward most of the Tme, and this one isn’t any diFerent. Meier, J. As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
