Chelsea Burnette Article Response 1 A Quick Breakdown of the Difference Between Hispanic, Latino, and Spanish Hispanic, Latino, and Spanish are often words that come grouped together. As a society, we associate these words with one another, although there are clear differences between them. In the article, Kat Lazo, a well-known YouTube personality, sets out on a mission to see how many people truly understand and can identify the differences between the words “Hispanic, Latino, and Spanish.” On her journey surveying people on the streets of New York City, the results that she finds are shocking. The author of the article suggests that although these are just descriptive words, it is important to know their meaning and the correct way to use them. While watching the video attached to the article, I was very surprised at the amount of people that did not know the difference between Hispanic, Latino, and Spanish. Each person she asked on the street had a different answer for the meaning of these words. Their responses show
