Zhichuan Ban Physics 222 Lab MFS Lab Report 1. Question of the day: what does the magnetic field produced by a current going through a slinky depend on, and how? A: Magnetic field depends on the current, length and the number of turns involves. It is proportional to the current and the number of turns, and inversely proportional to the length. 2. Set up: first, zero the Hall probe. To determine the relationship between the magnitude of magnetic field and current through slinky, we set the turns of slinky as 80, which is all of the slinky, and the length of the slinky to 0.22m. Then change the current by changing the voltage. Put the Hall probe at the middle of the slinky. Record the magnitude of magnetic field and the current. Secondly, to determine the relationship between the length of slinky and the magnetic field, we set the turns to 80, and the current is 5A. Then change the length of slinky by pulling or compressing it. Put the Hall probe at the middle of the slinky. Record the magnitude of magnetic field and the length.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
