Acknowledgement This research proposal would not have been possible without various the support and involvement of various parties whom the researcher is deeply indebted to. First and foremost, the researcher would like to thank the supervisors Mr. Brighton Yegon and Mrs. Salome Mathangani who have constantly and tirelessly guided the researcher all the time despite the busy schedules. Abstract Service delivery is a topical issue for most governments and scholars alike. There is a consensus amongst scholars that public service delivery is critical to ensuring the national wellbeing and stimulation of economic development. Better service delivery always begin with good records management practices. Effective and efficient public service delivery in records management within counties remains a challenge in Kenya. One of the key contributors to this is the deliberate negligence or unawareness of good recordkeeping practices in public institutions. The aim of this study is to review and address the existing gaps in records management in Nairobi City County government. The objectives of this study will be to: establish the existence of a records management policy; establish the current formats used in storage of records; examine the level of ICT compliance in management of records and determine the professional knowledge and skills of the staff in Nairobi City County government.
