Conflict management encompasses 8 distinct competencies (1) Value the potential positive nature of conflict. (2) Take constructive steps to address conflict. (3) Know common sources of conflict. (4) Know strategies to deal with conflict. (5) Set guidelines for addressing conflict. (6) Work to resolve disagreements. (7) Establish a safe environment for diverse opinions. (8) Allow all members to feel their viewpoints have been heard.
