What is the smell of the place in the units of most traditional companies? The smell consists of Constraint, Contract, Compliance and Control. Constraint – the top level managers of companies take all the decisions, make all the decisions. The work very hard but what is the effect on the lower strata? It is constraint – constraints of not taking initiatives and so on. Downtown Calcutta

Top managers create all kinds of systems HR systems, planning systems, budgeting systems. Each is justified by itself. But collectively what feelings do they create down the line? Compliance. Compliance
