Lab 9 - Part 2 1. Measure 8.2 mL of sodium hydroxide in a 10 mL graduated cylinder. Pour the solution in the large brown bottle. Fill the bottle to the neck with water (white tap). Cap the bottle and invert 10 times. 2. Be sure all glassware is cleaned: a. Rinse a clean 25 mL volumetric flask with a 5 mL portion of distilled water. Always use a rubber bulb to draw the water or solutions into the pipet. b. Make sure the rinse water hits every bit of the inner surface. Discard the rinse water. c. Rinse the pipet with 5 mL portions of HCl at least two times. Discard the rinse solutions. 3. Carefully pipet 25.00 mL of your standard hydrochloric acid solutions into a 250 mL Erlenmeyer flask, holding the tip of the pipet against the inner surface of the flask to avoid splatter. Hold the pipet in a vertical position for 15 seconds after the flow stops to ensure complete drainage. 4. Add about 50 mL of distilled water into the solution. Expect a color change. 5. Add three drops of phenolphthalein indicator solution to the acid solution and swirl.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
