Introduction to Hebrew Bible REL 2210 Midterm Study Guide Florida State University Kyle Roark spring 2016 The midterm will take place on Friday, Feb 19 . It will consist of several types of questions: matching, true-false, multiple choice, fill in the blank, and short answer. Bluebooks are NOT necessary. The content of the exam will be drawn from the material covered up to and including Feb 17th. Topics . In particular, some topics you should know include: The differences between the Jewish, Catholic and Protestant canons of the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible The basic plot and main characters of the non-biblical texts of the Ancient Near East that we have discussed. Esp. how scholars such as Coogan suggest they relate to the Bible (Gilgamesh, Enuma Elisha,) The key characters, events, and themes in the Abraham/Isaac, Jacob and Joseph cycles leading archaeological models for understanding the historical origins of Israel.
