Reverse engineering is the process of taking software programs and hardware apart to see how it was made, or works. Reverse engineering can be used to duplicate or enhance a process. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using reverse engineering to discover the logics of a software program? The advantages of reverse engineering of a software program is discovering how a program works. You can examine how the source code is used to perform certain operations. Discover how the manufacturer created the program for you to enhance the performance or solve a bigger problem. Disadvantages of reverse engineering of a software program can cause more harm than good.

Find any one tool available to perform reverse engineering of software programs. What are at least five features of that tool? The reverse engineering software program I found was Imagix 4D. Imagix 4D provides you the ability to understand, document and improve complex third party or legacy source code. Automate the analysis of control flow and dependencies, Detect problems in data usage and task interactions. Increase productivity, improve quality and reduce risk.
