Running head: DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS 1 Descriptive Statistics Sapna Chamberlain College of Nursing Week 5 Dr Fillman and class September 28, 2015 The article for this week’s assignment is a cross-sectional survey study about nurses’ perceptions of family presence during resuscitation. In sample of 154 nurses (n = 154) working in an urban hospital, both inpatient and outpatient nurses were included. Total 63 items on the survey consisted of 2 previously validated scales, demographic questions, and opinion questions. Nurses with high self-confidence perceived greater benefit of family present at bedside during resuscitation (r = 0.54; P < .001). Nurses with Advanced Cardiac Life Support training or with specialty certification, the once who witnessed 10 or mores resuscitation event or were part of nurses’ professional organization had higher self- confidence.
