Pugh 1 Homework #1 Linux has multiple file systems to it. They all have their own pros and cons. All of them are for storing things that you choose. They all work for different things and were designed to do different things. Depending on what you are doing having options can be good or bad. Also how much you know about Linux can make these decisions easier or harder as to what type of file system to use. Also some of them have what is called file system journaling. This also can be good or bad depending on your unique situation. One file system that was designed after the original extended file system is Ext2. This file system was introduced in 1993 and was developed by Remy Card. This file system was developed to overcome the limitations of the original ext file system. Ext2 doesn’t have the journaling feature available for it. Ext2 was designed to not have the overhead of journaling and is recommended for flash drives, usb drives, and different drives of the same sort. The max individual file size is from 16GB to 2 TB.
