RUNNINGHEAD: Measuring Intelligence Tanner Navarrette Does where you’re from impact your intelligence? Or to take it even further, does where your ancestors are from impact your intelligence? There has been much debate new and old over the relevance of culture to a person’s intelligence. Can where we come from impact the way we learn and the speed we absorb information? Circumstance and opportunity also come into the debate over this hot button topic. With this debate could there ever be a way to measure all types of intelligence in a standardized test? The brain capacities of all races and ethnicities are exactly the same. We all have the same ability to learn new information and adapt to said information. Our environment can affect the way we learn to do things and also affect our ambitions and drive to get higher education. The environment in which we are brought up are more important than our race or ethnicity in determining our intelligence. We are far more likely to become intelligent human beings if we
