KG- why do students complain so much A- S P- students complain b/c E- students should stop b/c … Generic Writing Strategies 1. Authority/qualifications: choose a KG you are qualified to fill based on experience and/or ob- servaion 2. Tone/voice: write as a scholar does — avoid being bitchy snotty, condescending, critical.  Measured response.  3. Complexity: treat phenomena complex. Singular TRUTH is NOT the goal. Many hypotheses  IS the goal 4. Criticism: do NOT criticize the article or its limitations or its knowledge gaps 5. Agreeing: avoid agreeing with the article. Agreeing leads to summary, not adding to the
