The relationship a teacher has with his or her students is solely dependent on the effort put into it. Teachers and students have an equal impact on the progress and success of the learning environment. It is important for both the teacher and the students to be accommodating, open, and accepting of criticisms, changes and positive criticism. In The Video (2013), we do not see a happy, accepting, successful classroom. Video Analysis: This video has been shared on Facebook/Twitter and Social Media outlets alike and has been applauded by many individuals from different backgrounds. The truth is, the video brings to light the problems within the classroom and within our society as a whole. Upon beginning we see a student stand up and begin lecturing his teacher while the teacher, Ms. Phung, hurries to kick him out of the classroom and dismiss any arguments he is making. On the one hand, Jeff Bliss is explaining to the teacher that they are the future of this country and her lack of efforts to teach them in any other way but to hand them a mere packet is hindering them all. He goes on to speak on the fact that she is not doing her job and that she should consider coming in and actually caring. His concern for the lack of teaching on her part and the fact that it finally brought him to speak up about them shows that this is an ongoing issue that finally let on fire. On the other, we sparingly see Ms. Phung in the cell phone video dismissing and disregarding anything Mr. Bliss is stating and simply stating things like “ok” and “bye.” Things one would hope would not be said to our students but is said across the nation.

Her unwillingness to hear the student out made the video that much more angering to watch because, as an educator, her job is to help not hinder. Ms. Phung is in charge of their learning and regarding their learning as her paycheck was ill stated and ill manner on her part in more ways than one (Bliss, 2013). Diagnosis : It seems as though the exchange has been long coming and that Mr. Bliss had finally had it. I believe that Ms. Phung’s lack of enthusiasm, efforts, dismissive and passive aggressive behavior have contributed and caused the outburst of the student.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
