Risk factors shared by more than one disease are smoking, obesity, poor diet, and lack of physical activity. Knowing this information can help me prevent the onset of these diseases because it will make me more health conscious. For example, I am not a smoker and have never smoked; however, I work with many people that have a habit of smoking one cigarette after the next. There is a dedicated place for smokers outside of our office building, but breath in the secondhand smoke whenever I step outside to talk to my co-workers. After learning about the many risks of smoking and second-hand smoke, I will prevent situations around secondhand smoke. Knowing the risk of a poor diet and lack of physical activity, I will be more mindful of my diet and daily physical activity. I will add more fruits and vegetables to my diet, along with balanced and healthy meals. By increasing my daily physical activity, I will improve my mind, body, mood, organs, and decrease my risk for many diseases. I will use the information that I have learned, to make important lifestyle changes. These
