2 Health Care Industry Paper Over the years, the healthcare industry has gone through tremendous changes within the preceding decade. The healthcare market has been impacted due to various changes within the economic, financial revolution as well as technology. This paper will discuss the evolution of Technology, finances, and economic perspective over the past, present and the future of health care. Past Changes over the last ten years Over the course of the last ten years, the experience of patients has been emerged to a digitization era. Electronic records were implemented to improve patient safety, and care, as well as increase patient satisfaction and health. With that being said it was also improved that patients are now able to pay their medical bills, online vs. in person or mailing in the payment. Patients are now able to view patient portals online and, therefore, getting lab results back faster, see diagnosis, etc. Medications are now capable of being escribed to have medications filled faster and much quicker than waiting in line with a Rx script and waiting for the doctor's office to bring them over. Changes in technology The technological advancements have grown and implementing the changes in the healthcare industry. Playing pivotal roles in monitoring data being entered into databases, as well as self-care tools are now being implemented as well as the processing of registering in patients in or emergency room visits as well as registering them into a room. Paper charts have become non-existent in healthcare today. “The electronic health record is being used where telemedicine has enhanced the speed of the medical services” (Jayanthia, 2014). Where Smartphones, Laptops as well as tablets are now replacing the formal documentation and oversight systems that were

Patient portals have now been implemented and integrated for users who are the computer capable of checking their records and are quite accessible for quick results instead of waiting till the end of the day. Rising costs in health care have become dominate in health care policy agendas. Due to the changes in fiancés in health care, the premiums for employer-sponsored programs that offer health insurances has raised an average of 4 percent yearly within the past decade. With that being said the percent for screenings as well as incentives have increased to 31 percent for assessment completions. Medicaid and Medicare's new spending for their services has not
