As technology progresses, organizations have moved through different types of computers and networks. With the changes made come various tradeoffs involved in using network computers (NC) and grid computing. A NC is described as a low cost personal computer for business networks that would be configured with only essential equipment, like, CD- rom players, diskette drives and expansion slats (Rouse, M., 2015). Any new software would be downloaded and implement easily. A NC could be based on microprocessors other than Intel and might include a Java base operating system rather than Windows. Advantages Allows file sharing. Provides convenient resource sharing. Inexpensive system. Flexible to sue. Increase in storage capacity of the software. Disadvantages Security difficulties. Presence of computer viruses and malwares. Lack of independence. Grid computing is a distributed architecture of large numbers of computer connection to share a complex problem (Rouse, M., 2015).
