ETHICAL BEHAVIOR 2 Ethical Behavior Throughout the course of this paper, I am going to discuss the Sarbanes Oxley Act. I will give a brief description of what it is, and who this acts protects. I will also explain what happens if a business does not comply with this act. I will then explain why I think this act has made a difference ethically in behavior of financial accounting. The Sarbanes Oxley Act was signed and put into place by President George Bush, on July 30, 2002. The Sarbanes Oxley Act was put into place because several companies were conducting fraud inside of their accounting departments. The act mandated all businesses were to adhere to a strict policies. Companies are to take responsibility for any financial documents and accounting frauds. (Greene) The role of internal controls in complying with Sarbanes Oxley Act is to focus more on
