Data Mining: Oracle’s Endeca utilises a flexible key-value pair data model ( IBM SPSS Modeler Professional 2010) for the handling of diverse data types including structured and unstructured information. Endeca can efficiently analyse data collected by the research team covering statistics such as monthly property prices and market trends. By viewing this information specific to individual MoveIn franchise locations, managers will have a better understanding of the circumstances that face each location, thereby enhancing the quality of managerial decision-making. With the acquisition of MoveInMortgages.com.au as well as the retention of Newhome.com.au, Endeca’s ability to index and discover trends amongst the websites’ unstructured data (Laudon and Valacich, 2012) would also serve in improving the research team’s ability to capture data. Both IBM Cognos’ SPSS Modeler and Birst Designer adopt model algorithms to process a company’s data (Birst’s website 2004). This leads to a creation of data- mining models where actionable patterns and detailed statistics can be identified. Unlike Oracle’s Endeca, whose key-value pair data model reduces the need for up-front data modelling ( Oracle Endeca Information Discovery 2012), IBM’s SPSS Modeler and Birst’s Designer lets you build multiple models within a single data mining solution including logistical regression ( IBM SPSS Modeler Professional 2010). With this, IBM’s Modeler would be able to accurately pinpoint anomalies and detect possible fraudulent behaviours. Birst’s use of cloud storage for data provides this vendor their competitive advantage. Cloud functionality could prove to be a convenient feature for an already franchised MoveIn looking to acquire additional mortgage brokerages. It allows you to upload raw data directly onto the cloud server without the need for a local database – this is accessible by anyone in the company from anywhere. OLAP: Oracle’s Essbase is touted as an ‘advanced calculation engine’ and covers a myriad of functions including scenario modelling ( Oracle Essbase 2010). It’s ability to conduct ‘what if’ analyses would assist in determining the profitability of new franchises through application of hypothetical variables. Both data in Essbase and IBM’s Cognos Enterprise are categorised by dimensions, where each

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
