Glinda J. Martin March 31/2016 History 1302 1) My personal reaction to this drawing when i originally looked at the drawing, i see a unique and beautiful drawing. But on the other hand i saw a shadow of darkness with the sword and the heads coming out of it like brass knuckles. 2) In addition to the Haymarket bombing, what else do you need to know about to understand this document? Why do you think the entire nation in the 1880s was so concerned about this tiny group of anarchists in Chicago Engels wrote at that time about the "exceptional" and "aristocratic" position occupied by the native-born (white Anglo) workers in the country. However, the vast bulk of the proletariat, especially in such cities as Chicago, were from Germany, Ireland, Bohemia, France, Poland, and Russia. Waves of immigrants were hurled against each other – pressed into ghetto-like slums, unleashed into ethnic warfare, used to drive one another further down.
