The paper present how Douglass’s narrative show the way slavery hurt people especially the oppressed and also other People. Frederick Douglass was born into slavery in the Talbot County, Maryland. Through the paper, the themes and the issues that Douglass bases his ideas on how the slaves were harmed as well as its impact on the people is also provided. Douglass talks about slavery by giving the example of himself in chapter one whereby he clarifies that his master detached him from his mommy shortly after his delivery. This separation was certified that Douglass did not grow domestic feelings toward the mother. Douglass dedicates the large section of his Narrative in demonstrating the way a slave is “made,” starting at birth. This progression originates at birth, as shown in Chapter I, which defines his institution into slavery.
