Purpose To determine whether or not groundwater sustainability will be affected if current human development does not change. Introduction The rate of development and population growth of humans has grown exponentially over the last two centuries. At the current rate of growth the use of groundwater continues to increase. Drinking water and irrigation are the two main uses of groundwater. (Class.ctuonline.edu). Hypothesis If human development maintains its current rate, groundwater will be reduced exponentially, and the sustainability of groundwater will decrease to dangerous levels. Methods Using the virtual lab that has actual data from the separate time periods, I gathered data about impact on forests, groundwater level, saltwater intrusion into the groundwater, farming, industrial development and population. Results In the 1800’s, the planet had large forests, an abundance of groundwater, no salt water intrusion, small farms, no cities, and limited housing. As population grew and industrialization took hold in the 1900’s, the impact on groundwater could be seen.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
