GENDER DIFFERENCES MAINTENANCE IN U.S.A There are roles for men and women in U.S.A Parents play a big role in maintaining gender roles Baby boys and girls are treated differently Parents define the kind of duties or activities appropriate for each gender Peer pressure peers reinforce gender roles by teasing a child who doesn’t fit gender roles in the peer group. The peers can even exclude a child from their group
