Algebra 2 Honors Osceola Fundamental High School Teacher: Mrs. Karen Smalley Room: 260 E-mail: *email only* Teacher Objective: As your Algebra II teacher, I will strive to meet your needs so you can reach high standards and be prepared for whatever may come after this class. I will prepare and design organized lessons that will aide you in becoming successful Algebra II students. Additionally, you will be provided with ample opportunities to practice and work with the classroom content to help you outside of the allotted classroom time. Course Objective: Algebra II is the continued study of algebraic concepts and processes. This course will show students real world applications of algebra and prepare students for higher level mathematics. Please refer to the website below for helpful information on the standards and practice problems. Topics Covered: The contents of Algebra II include: building on topics covered in Algebra I, polynomial, rational, and radical relationships, trig functions, modeling with functions, inferences and conclusions from data, and applications of probability. Materials: To be brought everyday 1. Graphing Calculator (TI 83/84 or Casio suggested) 2. Pencils and pens 3. Dry erase markers 4. Colored pencils 5. Loose leaf paper 6. Graph paper 7. 1½ - 2 in. three ring binder 8. \$5 lab fee 9. Textbook (keep at home) Criteria for Credit: 1. Complete on loose leaf notebook paper 2. Assignment number on top line of paper 3. Name, date, period in top right hand corner of paper 4. Write the problem (key points of word problems) 5. Box or highlight answers 6. Attempt EVERY problem 7. Check and correct EVERY problem 8. SHOW ALL WORK!
