Latif Shafaq Latif ENG 241 – E70N Dr. Lass 18 March 2016 Writing Assignment #4 Nature, faith, and human reason are three philosophic elements that have influenced American thinking and literature. The influence of nature has changed American thinking and literature by presenting the natural rights of human beings. In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson writes on the inalienable rights and equality of all individuals. He states that all individuals have the privilege of having all natural rights. Ideas of nature include the natural law for all humans. “That all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with inherent and inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”(663). This excerpt shows the significance of nature on individual thinking, and beliefs. Nature has influenced American literature thus; writers utilize the description of freedoms and resources in their text.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
