Rotational Dynamics Lab Joel Devariste Physics 151 – Section LU Tuesdays 12:20PM Tuesday, April 20 th , 2016 Abstract In this experiment we monitored centripetal acceleration. Centripetal force, and mass. We did this by using a circular motion apparatus that had both a plumb bob, and a spring attached to it. Tied to a string at the other end was weights hanging on a hanger. In our experiment we hung specific masses according to the location of the pointer (hoping to get it perfectly over the pointer). We took the distance from the pointer to the plumb bob and used this as the radius. After we calculated the time it took for ten full rotations to be performed, which helped determine the frequency. This was done four times. Questions & Answers Part 1: Constant Moment of Inertia with Variable Torque 1. Create the data table for part 1. Include all measured values (r, L, MBar, MDrum, R, N). 2. Make a graph of Torque versus α. Fit a linear best fit line to the data and determine I and τf with uncertainties.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
