Week 11 Day 2 North Wind reading- north horizon storm coming in- in a swamp- ducks flying everywhere—open season —Chukar partridge hunting in Wyoming Movie—Iowa landscape special and rare—natural and pristine—tall grass prairie—natural present—elk, coyotes, badgers living off the land, birds, plenty of plants BUFFALO/BISON-titans of the prairie—herds would tear up soil—but it was necessary and air raided the soil, natural and necessary— Food like corn and squash and beans and etc. were grown in the natural prairie—living off the land Fire usage- to manipulate the land, clear land, control animal movement, safe havens from windflowers, regenerate land Expanded and maintained the spread of the eastern prairie grasses—way to go Indians Lots of diversity Ecological Indian- what the Indian was supposed to be, practical, working the land Lewis and Clark in the heart of the tall grass prairie— Peace and friendship treaties- took over land from Indians
