Steven Akdemir Prof. Yan Liu Physics 111A Antonio Nigro, Bassam Hinnawi, Alexander Puchalski, Matt Jeffers Conservation of Momentum and Energy Objectives: We performed this lab with two main objectives: to better understand the laws of momentum conservation and of energy conversation, and to apply conservation of momentum and energy to solve a problem. Procedure: Before beginning, we gathered the required materials for this experiment, which included: a mini launcher attached to a base, a steel ball, push rod, a rotary motion sensor, a ball catcher attached to a pendulum rod, a ballast mass, a mounting rod, a large table clamp, safety goggles, a file folder with carbon and white papers, a plumb, a computer with capstone software installed, and 850 universal interface. 1. Log into the computer and open the “Lab BP Ballistic Pendulum” file, and activate the 850 universal interface. 2. Plug the Rotary Motion sensor into the “PASPort 1” input.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
