Steven Akdemir Prof. Yan Liu Physics 111A Matthew Jeffers, Antonio Nigro, Alexander Puchalski Bassam Hinnawi Lab 120N Conservation of Angular Momentum Introduction: We performed this lab with the goal of demonstrating that angular momentum is conserved in an inelastic collision. Procedure Before beginning the experiment, we gathered the required lab equipment, which included: a computer with capstone software installed, 850 universal interface, rotational system (consists of base, photo-gate sensor, and a step pulley), Rotational disk with diameter 25.4 cm, a ring with 12.7 cm outside diameter, a bubble level, vernier caliper, and a digital scale. To setup, we logged into the computer and connected the 850 Universal interface to the computer and into a power source, turned it on, and opened the “Lab 120 Conservation of Angular Momentum for 111A” file, then leveled the rotational base with the bubble level after setting it up the way it was in Figure 2 on page 60 in the lab manual. Then we began the experiment.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
