Linked to the theme ENVIRONMENT Is Space Colonization the Solution to our Ever- Deteriorating Environment on Earth? And Will It Guarantee Human Survival? Prepared for Dr. Jeffrey Jameson English 214-84 Academic and Professional Communication by Turki Alotaibi 201237480 Mechanical Engineering Department Abstract The report discusses the effects of humans’ overpopulation on the environment and how space colonization is a solution to that problem. The report starts with explaining that overpopulation is the cause of Global Warming and other species extinction. This is followed by discussing the solution for these problems, which is to colonize space. Finally the report ends with the methods and places to colonize space. 1

Introduction The report will be divided into three main sections. Firstly it will discuss the problems humans cause on Earth’s environment. Overpopulation is the main cause for Global Warming and the extinctions of other species, so the first part will talk about them in details with some figures. Secondly, the report will propose the idea of space colonization and why is it so useful to the environment and to our survival as well. The last part will be talking about the methods of space colonization and the best places to build habitats that will be the cornerstone of a new human era. The planets are divided into those who exist in our Solar System and those who exist outside of it. The problem with overpopulation is that it’s increasing dramatically for the past few decades. The other problem is that it is the cause of many problems on Earth, whether that being Global Warming or the extinction of other species. Unless we find a solution to it, we will be the cause of our own extinction. The proposed solution by many scientists is to colonize space to reduce the pressure on our Earth and to find more resources, etc. so this report will be mainly

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
