Alexsis Kempin-Ellis AMS 201-005 Joines October 5 th , 2015 To me, I do not have a traditional relationship with my father. I have some friends that do not have a father figure, which I do, I just do not have the most active father. Growing up, my parents lived together but around the age of five, my dad moved out. I would still spend the occasional time with him and see him every holiday but I did not have a consistent father figure. He was around for my life accomplishments, like graduations but seemed to miss my concerts and sports events. There was even a conflict with me moving away for college. I have a half-sister that is only a couple of months older than me, so growing up my dad would take us out occasionally together. To this day, every holiday I travel up to Racine where my dad and grandmother live. Recently my sister has been around more than me, due to my absence. For 20+ years, my family has had a family picnic, that attracts all of the family and friends, which is mandatory for me to attend. I have only missed two years out of my 19 years,
