Renteria 1 Pete Renteria 10588726 AVSC 3300 Professor Deshler March 25, 2014 “Nav Com and EFCS” I began flying about 21 years ago when about the most advanced avionics we saw in most general aviation aircraft was a Loran so to see how avionics in today’s aircraft has changed is amazing. Advanced cockpit instrumentation (Glass Cockpits) is now becoming a household phrase and if you haven’t flown an aircraft with a Glass cockpit you soon will, and initially you may be thinking how do you work all this stuff but you will soon be wondering you ever flew without it all these years. There have been incredible advances in today’s aircraft instrumentation, most notably glass cockpit displays. A Primary Flight Display (PFD) is the display that the pilot will use that contains the attitude indicator, Heading indicator, Altimeter, Airspeed indicator, VSI, Turn coordinator and in some cases auto pilot controls, Nav/Com radio, transponder and even a moving map inset.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
