I eat a lot of healthy foods such as lean meats, fresh vegetables, eggs, whole grains, and fruit. I do this to ensure that I am getting the required vitamins and minerals that I need to live a healthy life. I do indulge in some unhealthy foods with empty calories to treat myself and enjoy their comfort. 2. Where does the food you eat come from? When I am at school , I buy my groceries from Kroger and cook them at home. I buy some fresh foods and some processed/ preserved foods. I also eat out a couple of times a week at restaurants on campus. 3. How is your food grown and by whom? Beef is grown in Nebraska, Chicken is from local Indiana farms, and the fruit/

I don’t have a lot of time to get fresh produce so this is more convinent for me. I do buy some fruits and vegetables while theyre fresh such as avocados, tomatos, spinach, berries, apples, bananas, etc. 5. Have you ever planted your own garden and tasted the vegetables? What did they taste like? I haven’t planted my own but my mother maintains a vegetable garden at home. She plants tomatos, cilantro,peppers, and herbs. They are spectacular and more Favorful than store-bought produce. 6. What is a food system?
