HRM- 593 | WEEK 6 ASSIGNMENT 1 Based on Mike’s claim to his boss about his overtime, I would consider that the time he wants to be compensated for Exercise and Physical Readiness hours is not valid. I consider his reasoning not valid because his employer does allow him time to do the work on the job and Mike stated, “I feel like I need more time” which his own opinion and not a requirement of his employer. According to the Department of Labor training programs do not meet the criteria of “work time” if it meets the following four pieces of criteria “It is outside of normal work hours It is voluntary Not job related No other work is concurrently performed” [dol16] Since three of the four different criterions have been established, Mike’s employer has the right to deny him overtime pay for Exercise and Physical Readiness.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
