Many people in today’s work society are making the transition into riding bicycles to work instead of driving their cars and using mass transportation. However, many bicycles that are available fail to fit the needs of the everyday commuter. Whether being too bulky or too complex, the average commuter would not be able to take their bicycle to work. With the new lightweight, easy-to-store bicycle, many problems commuters face will be solved. This bicycle would offer the simplicity of being able to commute while still maintaining safety features that combines the speed of a road bike with the sturdiness of a mountain bike. When it comes to the phases within the new product development, each step is very important in order to ensure a successful product. The phases are: idea generation, product concept development and screening, marketing strategy development, business analysis, technical development, test marketing, and commercialization. Test marketing may be the most important phase out of them all. By implementing a test, this would allow the firm to explore and see whether or not the product would be profitable through “trying” out the distribution, advertising and sales promotion of the product in a specific, limited market.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
