Next return to this file, place your cursor in the space below, and click Paste. The purpose of this is to allow your instructor to see the first part of your data set. Use all 200 students in your sample to answer the remaining questions. What is the shape of the distribution of credit hours? Compute summary statistics and use StatCrunch to construct a histogram of the credit hour data. Include a short paragraph answering the question. Summary statistics: Column n Mea n Variance Std. dev. Std. err. Media n Range Mi n MaxQ1Q3 Hours 200 14.1614.0546733.74895630.26509124 15 18 3 21 12 17 The distribution when constructed in a histogram has a unimodal distribution with a left skew. This left skew can be accounted for by the incorporation of part- time students enrolled in the university. The median for the group surveyed shows the majority of students attend full time in the typical 10-18 credit hour course load for this university.

2. Suppose you want to construct a 95% confidence interval for the mean credit hours taken by StatCrunch U students. What sample size would be needed to limit the margin of error to 0.5 credit hours? Use the sample standard deviation from your sample as an estimate of the population standard deviation. You will need to follow the example on page 266 of the text. .5 = 1.96 ×S ´ X ´ X .25510 = 3.7489563 n n = 215.973 216 4. (a) What is the proportion of females at StatCrunch U? Create a pie chart showing the proportion of female students at StatCrunch U. Be sure to include a couple of sentences answering the question. The proportion of students in this survey group shows that there are more females attending this school than there are male. The percentage of women in this survey is 62.5% while the percentage of men is much lower at 37.5%. With this we can see that there is a larger number of females that were surveyed and could suggest that there are more females attending this university.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
