NAME Alyssa Bergman CLASS SECTION 907 CLASSROOM(S) OBSERVED Rms 08D, 012,013,014, 015A Lab Assignment 3b: Physical Development Fine Motor Development Introduction Fine motor development during this part of life is just as dramatic as growth and gross motor development, even though it may not be quite as obvious. Small muscle development also proceeds from the head downward (cephalocaudal) and from the central axis of the body outward (proximodistal). This means that the coordination of the smaller muscles of the wrists, hands, and fingers will be preceded by the coordination of the larger muscles of the arms and shoulders. Purpose Fine motor development or control involves the abilities of reaching and grasping, manipulating, letting go, and pouring. Coordination of eyes and hands is also considered. The goal of this assignment is to observe small motor development. This lab assignment also gives you experience using developmental checklists as a method of recording observations. Tasks Complete the checklist of fine motor behaviors that applies for each child. Then make an interpretation of your checklist observations for each child. Include any special circumstances (any physical challenges, for example) or reasons for professional concern (such as significant delay) in your comments about the developmental status of each child.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
