On several occasions I can account where personal events in my life have either cause me to call in “sick” or show up as a human shell. For example, finals week every semester I request off work not only to allow me more time to study but I know that my mind would not be in the work. That week I am anxious and stressed; two emotions that customers or clients do not enjoy in their servers. I find it hard to believe that there are people out there that can leave their personal lives at the door when they walk into work. I believe that when I go to work they are not only paying me to perform the job but also paying me to improve workplace environment, so I believe that I should be in a good mood. Positive attitudes are proven to be contagious and positive attitudes improve work performance. There is a reason employers attempt to give their employees the best benefits they can afford/ offer; they want their employees to be happy. Benefits like child care, bonuses, and gym memberships are all great ways to improve the moods of employees. Happy people leads to happy workers, leading to happy bosses and customers....
