Unit 2 Journey to Identity Text Analysis Title: I Am Nujood, Age 10 and Divorced Author: Nujood Ali, Delphine Minoui Publication Date: Broadway Books; First Edition edition (March 2, 2010) I chose this book because (respond in at least 2 sentences): I have had an interest in what it is like to be my age and married. I feel bad for the girls in these countries, and I have friends from Oman who now live in the United States. They were never married at a young aged, but their parents are. I like to see what it is like to be in the shoes of another person. Connecting with Character: Protagonist : I relate to her as feeling trapped in a situation, though it may not be as intense as hers. I have been stuck in situations where it took a while to get out of, which is how I relate to Nujood; though I can never exactly relate to her extreme situation. How do you relate to this character? Similarities Differences Beginning: Feeling trapped in a situation, wanting to be out of a situation. End: Being able to say, “I made it.” Getting out of a tough situation. Beginning: I was not placed in a terrible situation as Nujood was. I do not think I would have been able to stand up for myself in a situation like that.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
