2. What is meant by the term “global elite?” Who are the members of the global elite, and how do they differ from the upper-class elites described in Chapter 7? Why are the global elite “not limited by borders?” In your response provide examples of members of the global elite as well as evidence to support your response. Global elite is described as “a transglobal class of professional who exercise considerable economic and political power that is not limited by national boarders” (Chambliss, 2015, p. 197). Several writers have suggested that the occurrence of the global elite is not a new idea, but it is however a product of modern innovation on the basis of technology and globalization. In order to be part of the global elite one must possess a ton of wealth; this wealth is the basic root for a membership to be to among the “global elite”. There are considered to be only 1,226 people around the world that are billionaires with most of their riches coming from business, media, and technology (Chambliss, 2015, p. 197).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
