FAD is a Florida based organization that promotes communication and interactive lifestyle for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Late Deafened Floridians. The Florida Association of the Deaf, Inc. is affiliated with the National Association of the Deaf. FAD mission Statement is as followed; “To promote and safeguard the educational system for self-preservation. To promote awareness of communication difficulties, and methods. To promote in the use of communication devices. To promote in the use of protective signaling devices. To serve as a watchdog of legislation or practices that may affect Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Late Deafened individuals. To

And the vice president is June McMahon. I looked all over the website and Facebook page with no luck in finding conference dates. However, the FAD association is very busy. They have a Wet n’ Wild event coming up in July, Saturday storytelling events planned from March to May, and a cupcake and poetry event in Miami in April. It seems to me the Florida Association of the Deaf really does stand up to its mission statement....
