CET 1 Chapter 9: Printers Review Day 3 Refer to information obtained from labs and from Cisco 9.4 – 9.5 (Sharing Printers, Preventative Maintenance) and answer the questions below. 1. Shared printers and networked printers both allow a user to print to a printer that is not physically cabled to the computer he or she is using. What is the difference between a shared printer and a network printer? Be sure your answer includes differences in how the printers are cabled. A shared printer is a printer that is set up to work from multiple computers, while a network printer is one that is connected to the same network as a computer. Network printers are connected with ethernet cables or Wi-Fi and don’t require a host computer. Shared printers need a host computer, while a network printer is its own host. 2. A shared printer has been set up. At the end of the work day, the printer is left on but the computer it is connect to is shut down. How will this affect others that are trying to print to that shared printer?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
