Casanova 1 Dylan Casanova Kara Paige Sociology 19 April 2016 My culture My culture is Colombian; I was born and raised in Colombia. There I learned different types music including folkloric music, which is Colombian traditional music; I learned about different types of food and even a different language to the one I’m using right now. There are several important aspects of Colombian culture, food is one of them. Colombia has a large variety of dishes; this also varies depending on the regional climates. For example in the city of Medellin, the typical dish is “la bandeja paisa” it’s ingredients are beans, rice, “carne asada”,”chrizo”, fried egg, “arepa” and “chicharron”. In the city of Cali, the typical dish is “sancocho de gallina” it is a soup composed of chicken, plantain, corn, coriander, yuca and some other seasonings. Other important aspect of Colombian culture is music; Colombian music is a mixture of African, native indigenous, and European influences. Vallenato is the most common music
