Noel Averruz 10-28-14 U7A1 Process How to change a flat tire properly. Step one. Locate your vehicles jack, tire iron, and spare. Step two. Make sure your car is in park and you set the emergency brake. Take your tire iron and loosen the lug nuts on the flat tire. Step three. Jack up the car from the designated jacking areas (usually marked, or check owner’s manual). Step four. Remove the lug nuts and the flat tire. Replace with spare tire and screw in the lug nuts manually. Step five. Lower the car to the ground and tighten the lug nuts tightly with the tire iron. Step six. Store the jack, tire iron, and place flat (where spare was) in designated locations. You are now ready to drive off to your destination, or to fix the flat.
