Noel Averruz EN1420 07-22-15 The United States of America has the highest population of people in jail than the rest of the world. Most of the people in jail in this country are Latino or African American, they make up about 60%. Many are serving time for non-violent crimes & low level drug offenses. I believe that this has a lot to do with the criminal justice system in this country. The Justice system is very unfair and biased when it comes to Latinos and African American men and women. Latinos and African American are more likely to get pulled over or stopped and frisked by police officers. They are more likely to get arrested and serve longer sentence than their white counterparts. Latino and African American men and women are also most likely to get harassed, abused, and killed by police officers.
