Joseph DeSpain ENG 111-204 GROUP 03 TLAE CH.1: Pg 37 #2 A. I am from Monee, Illinois, a small rural town about 40 miles south of Chicago. B. I am interested in the field of Petroleum Engineering. I find its true multidisciplinary nature is intriguing to the career you can develop over a lifetime. Petroleum itself is a global entity, and nations worldwide have to find, extract, manufacture, and economically utilize it in a responsible and stable way. C. My father is a Head Draftsman in the field of sheet metal, and his job comprises of drawing and figuring duct into a wide array of facilities, from storage to hospitals. His work has Engineering and Estimating intertwined within it. D. I am a freshman undergraduate looking to pursue a Bachelor’s degree first most, with intentions to extend my academics, as it is definitely powerful to obtaining a multifaceted career. E. I enjoy travelling the world; reading and learning about culture, history, and geography of regions; and I love to golf, as it is not only a development of skill and patience but also a social platform. F. I am most proud of my involvement in my High School, in which I had extensive leadership in Band, Golf, Baseball, Scholastic Bowl, NHS, and Relay for Life. These experiences taught me the importance of responsibility, respect, and to have an inner drive fueled with passion and effort.
