1Will Roper Response to Social Reforms HIST 210 This week’s comparison is on the subject of social reformations in our cities. Like the last comparison on economic development, each of us chose different items to discuss while all based on the same core subject of social reform. This subject offers a much wider range of topics though and helps give an idea of how broad and varied this subject can be. In Barcelona, the anarchists were on the fence and overall, confusing. The anarchists’ initial political strategy was to do what their name might suggest and sit out on the world of politics. Then, someone had the revolution that this would do nothing, hence the change in the anarchists’ function. A change in their policy was necessary if there was ever to be a change in the status of the anarchists’ supporters, the members of the lower and working classes. This change resulted in many other changes in the anarchist party. In Copenhagen, class relations also came into play.
