P APER T HREE : F INAL A RGUMENT E SSAY Final draft due Tuesday, April 29 Value: 100 points Page Requirement: at least 6 pages At the end of the semester, you will be expected to submit a six page thesis-driven, persuasive argument essay built off both your personal and exploratory essays. You will be expected to make a claim about a specific issue and support your claim with research. This paper is not simply your argument or opinion on a topic with no research, nor is it just a research paper without a stance—it is a persuasive, argumentative research paper. Basically, you are attempting to convince your reader, utilizing a descriptive beginning, a developed thesis statement, multiple viewpoints and counter-arguments, as well as clear, concise writing, of your case. You will be required to present on your topic during the last week of class. Overview: The Final Argument Paper should provide background information on the topic, evidence for the thesis, and consideration of alternative viewpoints on the thesis. In the body of
