Beginning of social beng Prototype for future relationships Future husband- look at how treat mother ATTACHMENT Definition- Active affectionate reciprocal relationship b/t 2 people that strenghtns and is reinforced with interactions Ainsworth-privide 2 type of attachment-secure and Insecure Secure Child uses mom as secure base from wh/ to explore the world These kids are usually cooperatibe and anger-free Occurs from affectionate, attentive mom- more skilled infant care Insecure-2 types Avoidant- show little distress wen mom leaves and little interest wen returns Dislike being held, but like being put down even less Occurs wen mom angry, do physical contact, tense and irritable because premature, cry a lot, hard to care for Ambivalent (resistant babies) Upset wen mom leave and wen she returns are ambivalent Seek contact w/ her, but kick and squirm wen held
